What inspires you as an artist? To create something that you can truly say is your own in this world of consumerism and pre-fabricated goods.
What does the term ‘curator’ mean to you? A person who cares for an exhibition, making sure everything is well layout and thought out.
From both an artistic and curatorial point of view, what does ‘space’ mean to you and why? An area of void that can be filled up.
What inspires you as a curator? Being able to create a gallery for the general public/art audience to view.
How do you perceive that attitude towards art in a digital context? Digital art is still in it's infancy and constantly developing, being able to cater to a world wide audience gives artists new possibilities to expand on a global level.
What are the challenges of digital curation? Being able to capture the physical properties of an artwork and place it onto a screen. There are ways of approaching this feat.
What are the positives of digital curation? Global audiences and good for remote artists or artists that aren't able to find brick/mortar spaces.
Craft/Technology: Is there a difference for you? What is it? Whilst technology may bring new mediums and work flows for artists, it seems there's always elements of drawing and basic art practice when it comes to breaking down differences/similarities.
Does digital technology change how you critique, produce and view art? Yes, it allows us to be able to see art on a mass level and see the contrasts and influences in contemporary art.
Can you describe how artists, nationally or internationally, have utilised digital technology in regards to their practice? Artists have been given new mediums to not only advertise but also produce works and new work flows due to digital technology.
